Shanghai: High-profile club coaches from across Asia including several from the AFC Champions League quarter-finalists gathered in Shanghai today for the AFC’s Third Elite Club Coaches Forum.
Two-time UEFA Champions League winner Paulo Sousa, now coach of Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian, who face Japan’s Kashima Antlers in the East Zone, was among the attendees.
Also joining the Forum was Choi Kang-hee, manager of another quarter-finalist Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC of Korea Republic and AFC Coach of the Year 2016 as well as Branko Ivankovic, the highly-experienced Croatian coach of Persepolis FC, from the West Zone who are involved in a tight game against Al Duhail of Qatar.

월드컵 휴식기를 맞아 전북현대가 중국 슈퍼리그 강호 산둥루넝과 2차례 맞대결을 펼친다.
K리그1과 ACL우승을 위해 전술을 가다듬고 있는 전북현대는 슈퍼리그에서 상하이 상강과 승점 동률이지만 득실차에 밀려 2위를 달리고 있는 산둥루넝과 친선경기를 치르기 위해 22일 오전 중국으로 떠난다.
전북은 오는 25일과 27일 각각 산둥 클럽하우스와 올림픽센터 스타디움에서 현지 시각으로 저녁 7시 평가전을 치를 예정이다.
이번 친선경기는 산둥루넝이 전북선수단의 항공 및 숙박 등 모든 경비 일체를 부담하는 조건으로 제안을 했고 전북은 모기업 현대자동차의 중국내 위상제고와 유소년을 비롯한 각종 축구 교류를 위해 친선경기를 받아들였다.
월드컵 휴식기전 많은 주전선수들의 부상으로 어려움을 겪었던 전북은 어깨 부상을 입었던 한교원이 완전히 회복해 팀 훈련에 합류했고 김민재가 7월 복귀를 위해 준비를 하고 있는 등 팀이 차츰 안정을 찾고 있다.
이와 함께 이번 친선전에는 이동국을 비롯한 신형민, 최철순, 이승기, 로페즈 등 대부분의 주축 선수들이 출전하게 된다.
전북 최강희 감독은 “후반기 시작 전 좋은 스파링 파트너가 될 것 같다”며 “월드컵과 부상으로 빠진 선수들이 많지만 우리가 가진 능력을 최대한 발휘하고 좋은 경기를 펼치겠다”고 말했다.
Shanghai: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Elite Club Coaches Forum concluded in Shanghai on Thursday with the top Asian coaches agreed on the need to continue to grow and improve AFC’s top club competitions and the vital role the forum plays in that objective.
Former European Champions Fabio Capello, the Jiangsu Suning coach, and Felix Magath, from Shandong Luneng, led the contingent from the Chinese Super League. They were joined by Gus Poyet, the former Brighton and Sunderland manager, from Shanghai Shenhua, Dragan Stojkovic of Guangzhou R&F, Andre Villas-Boas from Shanghai SIPG, former China national team manager Zhu Guanghu and Fu Bo, the Guangzhou Evergrande assistant coach.
우리나라와 중국의 2018 러시아 월드컵 아시아지역 최종예선 1차전은 경기 결과만큼 중국의 대규모 응원단도 큰 화제를 불러 모았습니다. 경기 입장권 예약 판매부터 중국 축구협회가 대한축구협회에 티켓 5만장을 요구했다는 게 알려지면서, 과연 몇 만 명의 중국 서포터스 ‘치우미’가 경기장을 찾을지 관심이 모아졌는데요. 물론 기대만큼은 아니었지만 역대 최다인 1만 명의 중국 축구팬이 서울월드컵경기장을 찾아 5만여 관중의 열기와 함성 속에서 치열했던 승부가 펼쳐졌습니다.
